News you can use
Editor:
I grew up in Havre and every year I attended or participated in the Festival Days parade.
Now that I have moved away and have a family of my own Festival Days has been an annual event that my family travels to.
For years I have watched the parade and have been irritated that the band went so far down hill in terms of dress, they never matched. But all those years I have never been so inclined to write a letter to the editor until now.
First to clear the record about the band, what I got to see was wonderful and kids were dressed in uniform — kudos to you. But to the Methodist Church words cannot describe what I feel for you. My daughter is 7 and since the parade route goes down 5th and that is mostly residential area, bathrooms are going to be very scarce, when she says I have to use the bathroom there is going to be an issue.
I walked her over to the Methodist Church and was blocked by an older gentlemen, and when I asked if we could use the bathroom, I was told that if he let me use it then he would have to let everyone use it. Well here is what I have to say to that.
I am a Methodist and pretty sure my church would never turn someone away from their door. What if that would have been Jesus with a child? The only thing that I can say is shame on you.
