Billy Joe Byrd

Billy Joe Byrd, 58, died Thursday, Sept. 14, at his Stilwell, Okla., residence.

He started a Baptist congregation at Fort Peck Indian Reservation, and eventually settled at Fort Belknap, where he served until poor health caused him to retire.

Survivors include two daughters, Army Byrd of Havre and Kayla Byrd of Clinton, Okla., and son, Bruce Byrd of Harlem.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Cheyenne Arapaho Community Center, Clinton.
