Champ thanks community

Dear Editor and the Havre community:

Thank you so much for your support during my football and wrestling seasons. North-central Montana has been a great place to grow up, and all of you have played a part in making me so proud to say I am from the Hi-Line.

Thanks for your encouragement going in to the state wrestling tournament and all the coverage the newspaper devoted to this great sport of wrestling. I am so grateful for those of you that drove all the way to Billings to support our Hi-Line teams. I not only enjoyed competing, but I also liked supporting all my fellow wrestlers. Congrats to Casey Schaub, Eli Hinebauch and Jorrell Jones on their state championships and to Robby Klingaman, Cord Anderson and the rest of the Mighty Sugarbeeters who helped bring home our fourth consecutive Class C state title.

Lastly, I want to thank Ron Bruschi, KPQX radio announcer, for making every football game sound like it was the Super Bowl and for making every wrestling match sound like a world title was on the line.

Havre Daily News, thanks for the interview last week. It was a great article except for the quote that made me sound a bit egotistical. I didn't mean to sound arrogant at all. I have prided myself in being a good role model by being humble. Feel free to ask any of my teammates or students at Chinook High School, and don't hesitate to stop and talk with me wherever you see me. I strive to make our community proud of the character of its high school athletes.

Thank you for this opportunity. I will continue to try to bring positive notoriety to Montana's Hi-Line as I wrestle for the University of Wyoming in the fall.
