Patricia Amundson Beckman Bitz

Patricia Amundson Beckman Bitz, born Aug. 18, 1932, went home to heaven on May 10, 2012, after her long battle with cancer.

Patricia was born and raised in Bagley, Minn. She was the valedictorian of her class, graduating in 1950. She married Wes Beckman and moved to Montana, where they made their home. Wes died in 1969. She also married Sam Bitz, and they later divorced.

Patricia had a variety of jobs in her life, but was a very good and well- known seamstress. She enjoyed gardening, reading, puzzles, baking, spending time with her family, and of course, her many pets. Christmas time was very special to her, and everyone knew they would be getting homemade goodies.

Patricia is survived by daughters, Jill Beckman, Julie (Leo) Driscoll and Audrey Bitz; sons, Gary (Ida) Beckman, Brad Beckman, Ron Beckman and Jeff (Maresa Tuttle) Beckman; sisters, Judy (Nick) Burns, Sandee (Leon) Eliason, Peggy (Larry) Bannor and Paulette (Oak) Williams; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many more who loved and will miss her. During her last few months her son, Ron, and granddaughter, Roxy Gesler, were with Patricia constantly as her caretakers during her last battle with the cancer that took her voice but not her spunk. They made sure she got home in time for her to say goodbye.

A public memorial will be held in August. More details will be published later.
