Local Bowling Report: Hi-Line Lanes Challenge on tap

Keglers interested in bowling in the New Year's Eve Jackpot should be thinking of signing up early to guarantee their spots. The sign-up Sheet will be out Nov. 26. When a person signs up the spots must be paid for. There is a limit of six bowlers per lane.

Hi Line Lanes is starting an Average Tracker Bowling Club. Open bowlers may sign up when they bowl at no cost to them. Hi Line Lanes will put their name in a data base and the next time they come out to bowl we will have their average for them, also they will be able to bowl for a discount at certain times of the day and during the week on evenings. College students are advised to take advantage of this.

TOURNEY TRAIL: No flyer has been received to any tournaments in the area other than our tournament on Nov. 24 (the Hi Line Lane Challenge Tournament). Call 254-5885 for your spot.

NASTALGiA TIME: Prize report from Hi Line Lanes Mixed Doubles Tournament, (from my brother in Minnesota) was the largest in the Northwest running during the month of February. Bowlers came from all over including Southern Alberta. That year, first place with a first-place prize of $2,000 and trophies went to Lois Jeffery of Butte and Les Milinar of Joplin with a score of 1,300. Second place paid $1,000 with a 1,298 score. That year, there were a total of 1,824 entries, with $6 to prize money for a total of $10,944.paid out. It is too bad that tournament is not being held now. If we had more interest I think we could revive it again.

TIP OF THE WEEK: Do not try to make your best shot better, but try to make it more often. The bowler who minimizes the damage on a bad shot is the one who will emerge on top. The moral: Make your misses better.
