News you can use
Editor:
Mr. Thackeray, I generally get a bit of a chuckle from reading your letters. They are so obviously condescending and supercilious that I just have to laugh.
Your letter of Feb. 9 was a prime example of exactly that attitude.
So, you don't like Rick Dow. So what? You used five and a half paragraphs telling us how much you dislike Mr. Dow. Personally, I like Rick. He can sometimes make a joke that not everyone gets, but, again, so what?
Maybe if you spent more time with some rational thinking exercises, your letters may make more sense to those who like to look at all sides of an issue rather than pandering to one side or the other.
I will keep my letter short and point out the obvious for you.
Your very last sentence negates the rest of your letter. Mr. Dow wants nothing more than a "reasonable version of this ordinance." Wow, the two of you agree.
