Carole Margot (Sorensen) Herman, 74, of Vancouver, Wash., passed away peacefully the evening of Nov. 4, 2012.
Carole was born in Great Falls on Jan. 19, 1938, to Evelyn "Sally" and Elias "Si" Sorensen, and grew up in Havre. After starting a family with her husband, Loren, Carole worked in the resource room at Lincoln Elementary in Vancouver, Wash., and later as office aide at Shumway Junior High School and Discovery Middle School, also in Vancouver.
Her younger brother Alan remembers her as a loving big sister who traveled the world, was a women's libber before there were women's libbers, was a genius of the first order and was equally adept at shorthand and the piano.
Carole was preceded in death by her mother and father, Sally and Si, and by her husband, Loren. She is survived by her brothers, Scott of Whitefish and Alan of Havre; her sons, Matt and Chad; her daughters-in-law, Stacey and Dyanna; and her five grandchildren, Sonia, Eli, Clara, Maggie, and Nora.
A memorial celebration will be held at a later date.
