News you can use
Hot scores continued last week as Ryan Mapes rolled the first 300 game of the 2012-13 season. Bowling for the Oxford Bar and shooting on lanes 5 and 6, he sandwiched the 300 game in between 204 and 194 for a nice 698 and league high series last week. Congratulations Ryan.
Several people have been inquiring about Junior U.S.B.C. and when does it start. News was received last night that it will start on Sunday, October 28th at 1:30. All are asked to show up at least one half hour before to fill out cards. Bumper bowling will begin at a later date. Anyone wanting to bowl, please call the lanes at 265-5885 and we will pass your name on the Sharon.
Faye and I are traveling to Butte this weekend to attend a coaching clinic Level One so we will be certified and registered to work with Junior U.S.B.C. bowlers.
While attending the Jamboree in Missoula, U.S.B.C. sent a delegate there and he was very informative. He did mention how merging worked and how successful it has been. It is my opinion as a member of U.S.B.C. that is the way to go. He also had a list of ten items for local associations to remember they are as follows: 10. Bowl.Com. 9. Read USBC E-Mail News. 8. Update Bylaws and Policy manual. 7. Create good relationships with bowling centers. 6. File required tax documents. File 990 to IRS. Form 990's end every year by December 15th. 5. Recognize new members. 4. Process awards promptly. Secretaries have 20 days to file and 20 days to give out. 3.Promote and grow tournaments. 2. Think Coaching. 1. HAVE FUN!
We also welcome back K-Lines from Rudyard. News item from Shirley Kline. Thanks Shirley.
