Havre Ice Hawks skate to success on their home ice

The Havre Ice Hawks hockey team spent a lot of time of the Havre Ice Dome over the weekend.

ow Ice Dawgs and Whitefish Glacier Avalanche, the Ice Hawks played three more games. Saturday morning, the Ice Hawks defeated the Ice Dawgs 7-2. But on Saturday evening, the Glacier Avalanche defeated the Ice Hawks 5-3. Sunday afternoon, the Ice Hawks and Ice Dawgs ended their second meeting in a 5-5 tie.

Josh Emge had a solid game in the net for Havre in the first game against Glasgow, as he had 16 saves. Havre also outshot the Ice Dawgs 53 to 18 on its way to seven goals. Jon Stoner had earned the hat trick, while Justin Miller, Dustin Armstrong, and Caleb McLain all had one goal each. Ned Malone had two assists, while Gavin Gunderson, Nick Howell, Brandon Huntington, Dane Linquist, Justin Miller and Dustin Armstrong all had one assist each.

Facing the Glacier Avalanche, the Ice Hawks struggled a bit offensively.

Havre took just 26 shots and found the net three times. The Glacier Avalanche on the other hand, racked up 44 shots, forcing Emge to come up with 39 saves. Howell and Stoner both scored a goal for the Ice Hawks, while Malone accounted for two assists.

In the Ice Hawk's final game of the weekend, Havre couldn't separate from the Ice Dawgs for a second time.

The game was back and forth, and Havre trailed 4-3 heading into the third and final period. But the Ice Hawk's offensive threat was back, as they found a way to put up 68 more shots. Howell scored on a McLain assist, and Alex Hanson scored an unassisted goal on a power play. Dustin Armstrong also scored on a Stoner assist, while Miller scored on an Armstrong assist. Malone scored the teams fifth goal on a Stoner assist. Emge also made 17 saves.

The Ice Hawks have a break in their scheduled games until Dec. 29, when they will face Glasgow two more times in Glasgow.
