Weather delayed but didn't stop Havre Pride

Editor:

Mother Nature really didn't cooperate with our first Havre Pride cleanup on April 28. And, she came back the next weekend with a not so nice day to clean up Havre. In spite of the weather, though, we had folks out on both weekends, and to them a big thank-you.

The many partnerships that have been developed recently to make the Havre Area Chamber of Commerce's Havre Pride community cleanup an even bigger event have been great. Thank you to all the partners:

  • Opportunity Link Inc.
  • Energy Corp.
  • Recycle Hi-Line
  • Walmart
  • Pacific Steel & Recycling.

Thank you to Carrie Johnson for organizing the recycling part of Havre Pride. Thanks to all the people who participated with the recycling. There was a great turnout.

Thank you to each and every one of you who gave time and braved the elements to pick up many areas around town. Thank you to our sponsors who added a little fun to picking up trash:

  • Northern Montana Hospital
  • Gary & Leo's Fresh Foods
  • 5th Ave Grind
  • Domino's
  • Pizza Hut
  • Dairy Queen
  • Independence Bank.

Havre Pride is a community-wide effort to clean up our town. The goal is to first get the community members working together to clean up our town and second to educate people on the subjects of litter, community pride and the importance of recycling.

Fall Havre Pride is scheduled for Sept. 8.

Debbie Vandeberg,

Executive director

Havre Area Chamber of Commerce
