Waldo K. Solonar
Dr. Waldo K. Solonar bravely passed away attended by family on Oct. 13th in Issaquah, Wash. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him and depended upon his wealth of knowledge and compassion for inspiration and encouragement.
Born in the former Yugoslavia in 1926, Waldo received his medical qualifications in Novi Sad and continued to specialize in pathology in Paris, France, Philadelphia, Pa., and Seattle, Wash., before settling in Havre, Mont., where he served the Hi-Line for more than 20 years. He later retired with his wife, Hilde, to Polson, Mont., where they together opened Art Forms Gallery. Enthralled with Montana, Waldo taught his three children, Arthur, Corinne and Ted, the love of nature through family hikes, camp-outs, rafting, hunting and fishing trips.
A polyglot and a humanist, Waldo modeled kindness and a genuine interest in people of all backgrounds in the communities where he resided. His upbeat accordion polkas and beautiful paintings will continue to be cherished by the family and friends who were blessed to have known him.
