Doris 'June' Carlson Lind
Doris "June" Carlson Lind, 92, passed away on Nov. 4, 2012, at Northern Montana Care Center in Havre of natural causes.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p. m. Saturday Nov. 10, 2012, at O'Connor Funeral Home in Great Falls, with burial to follow at Highland Cemetery.
June was born June 24, 1920, in Neihart, to F. Karl and Emma (Johnson) Schenck. June received her schooling in Neihart and Great Falls, graduating from Great Falls High School in 1938. She was employed at J. C. Penney's Department store for a time before her marriage in 1946 to Raymond B. Carlson, a rancher from the Millegan area south of Great Falls. After Ray's death in 1967, June later married Arvid Lind in 1982.
During her life, June was a dedicated 72-year member of the Rebekah Lodge, initiated in Belt at age 20, serving in Neihart, and then in Great Falls for over six decades. She served as Noble Grand in 1973 and held many other offices over the years. She was a confirmed member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, a diligent homemaker, and loyal friend. She was also the family historian, remembering family facts and relationships.
June is survived by her son, Gregg (Ruth) R. Carlson of Havre; granddaughter, Dr. Heather( David) Wheeler of Bozeman; grandson, Raymond B. Carlson of Sidney; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Jonathan, Sarah and Benjamin Wheeler; brother, Donald Schenck of Helena; sister, Arlene Priest of Billings; sister-in-law, Marguerite Schenck of Whitefish; and numerous nieces and nephews.
June was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands; sister and brother-in-law, Mickey and Emma Thomas, ; sister and brother-in-law, T. Donald and Elvera McLaughlin; brothers, Edgar, Melvin and Aaron Schenck; and sisters-in-law, Ethel Schenck and Alice Schenck.
