Jaden Nathaniel Griggs

Jaden Nathaniel Griggs died Wednesday, July 4, 2012, due to injuries from a car accident.

Calling hours will be 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Holland & Bonine Funeral Home in Havre.

His funeral services will be Tuesday, July 10, at 1 p.m. at First Lutheran Church.

Burial will be at Highland Cemetery, Havre, Mont. A fellowship luncheon will be held at the church immediately after the services at graveside. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.

Jaden was born on Feb. 8, 1994, in Havre, to Vanessa Griggs and Jack Murray. A loving son, grandchild, big brother, nephew and cousin, Jaden wore a smile every day of his life. A fun-loving young man, he enjoyed spending time with his grandparents and family camping, fishing and playing cards. A proud brother, Jaden was looked up to by all of his younger cousins. He had a passion for auto mechanics, gained from spending years with his father and friends on derby cars in the shop.

Jaden enjoyed working at Pizza Hut and spending his free time working on his friends' and his own vehicles. He was an avid Broncos and Griz fan, loved Fords and hunted every year with his grandfather and cousins. With friends, he was a night fisherman, played video games and enjoyed the outdoors. He graduated in May from Havre High School and recently traveled to Dearborn, Mich., to compete in the 2012 National Ford/AAA Student Auto Skills Competition after placing first at the state competition in Helena. He was going to study diesel mechanics at Montana State University-Northern in the fall.

Jaden is survived by his parents, Vanessa (Mark Hofer) Griggs and Jack (Tammy) Murray; sisters, Berlyn and Bailey Griggs and Mallory Murray, all of Havre.

He is also survived by his grandparents, Jim and Bonita Griggs and MaryLou Murray, all of Havre; his great-grandma, Ruth McCall; his aunts, Chamene (Cliff) Plum of Havre, Mariah (Bill) Rathbun of Hingham, and Peggy (Matt) Hermes of Missoula; his uncles, Cameron Griggs of Missoula and Kendall (Rose) Griggs of Brady; his cousins, Christina and Zach Plum and Gina Griggs of Havre, Kayla, Alicia and Keiana Griggs of Missoula, Sidney and Luke Griggs of Brady, Reid Danell of Shelby, Emily and Riley Hermes of Missoula.

He is also survived by his girlfriend, Mikell Kinsella of Havre.

Jaden was preceded in death by his uncles, Jim Murray and J.D. Griggs; and his grandfather, Tim Murray.
