Violet M. Dannels

Violet M. Dannels, 92, passed away Saturday, Dec. 24, 2011, at Northern Montana Care Center, due to natural causes. Violet has been cremated and along with her husband's ashes will be spread over the waters.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2012, at Holland & Bonine Funeral Home in Havre, Mont., at 11 a. m.

Memorials in her name may be given to the charity of one's choice. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home. Condolences may be left for the family at hollandbonine.com.

Violet was born Sept. 17, 1919, at Laredo, Mont., to Frank and Marie (Miller) Earl.

She attended schools in Laredo and Havre, graduating in 1938. That year she lost all her graduation gifts to the flood at Gravelly Coulee Creek.

On Aug. 6, 1938, she married Frank V. Dannels in Great Falls. To this marriage they were blessed with three children: Marie, Janet and Donald.

She enjoyed gardening, fishing, playing cards and doing crafts with her husband. She was an excellent cook and baker. She lived most of her life in Great Falls, Hamilton and Havre.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Wilbur and Donald; sister, Charlotte; and sisters-in-law Viola and Lovella Earl.

Violet is survived by her children and their families, Marie (Darrell) Anderson of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Janet Hayes (Lue Irion) of Hamilton, Mont., and Donald (Shelly) Dannels of Hemet, Calif. ; brothers, Bert (Joan) Earl of Great Fall, Howard (Ann) Earl and Frank Earl of Havre; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
