Hazel Big Bow Eagleman

Hazel Big Bow Eagleman, 71, died Sunday morning, June 26, 2011, at Benefis East Hospital in Great Falls, Montana of natural causes.

Her wake service will begin Sunday afternoon, and her funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday, June 27, 2011, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Rocky Boy, Mont., with burial to follow at the Rocky Boy Cemetery. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.

Hazel was born Sept. 25, 1939, in Rocky Boy, to Earl and Agnes Skunk (Wolf Child) Big Bow. She was raised and educated in Rocky Boy and attended Montana State University-Northern for 3 1/2 years. Hazel worked as a dispatcher for the Rocky Boy Police Department, and as a drug and alcohol counselor, a community health representative, a transportation driver and receptionist all at the Rocky Boy Clinic. Our mother, Hazel, lived her life in an exemplary way. She lived in the service of others. She never hesitated to give anything she had. She would help people in any way she could. Hazel loved her family and her granchidlren

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Carol Mesquito; and three brothers, Merle Big Bow, Earl Big Bow and Gerald Big Bow.

Hazel is survived by her sons, Louis "Sunny" (Donna) Raining Bird, Duane (Jody) Raining Bird and Charlie (Cheryl) Raining Bird, all of Rocky Boy, Mont., and Alan (Shzwhz) Raining Bird of Boise, Idaho; daughters, Lou Ann Raining Bird of Helena, Mont., Louis Lynn Raining Bird and Lynada (Kurt) Seminole both of Rocky Boy, Mont., Jilliam Raining Bird of Kansas City, Mo., Jessica Raining Bird of Sacramento, Calif., and Kristine Eagleman of Benning, Ga .; her sisters, Francis Fisher of Fort Hall, Idaho, Carol (Billy) Mesquito of Maple Creek, Saskatchewan, Canada, Mary Big Boy of Polson, Mont., and Charlotte Wolfchild of Rocky Boy, Mont .; Numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
