Frank Edward Rucinsky
Frank Edward Rucinsky, 90, who enjoyed golfing, gardening and dancing with his wife, died of natural causes Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, at Northern Montana Care Center in Havre.
His funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 29, at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, with Father Dale Yurkovic presiding. A luncheon will follow at the parish hall. Cremation has been completed, and his ashes will be buried at a later date along with his beloved wife's when she passes away. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home of Havre is in charge of arrangements.
Frank was born in Johnstown, Pa., to Mary Slewiak and Joseph Rucinsky on May 14, 1920. Eventually Frank, his former wife and family moved to Havre in 1947. He then went to work for Hill County Electric as an apprentice lineman where he was instrumental in building the electrical lines to North Havre turning on the first lights there.
He worked at HCE for 37 years and retired as the line superintendent for the last 25 years of his employment there. He also worked a second job as a bartender at Andy's Supper Club and had many friends.
Frank and his first wife divorced. In 1957, he married the love of his life, Edelene, and they were married for 53 happy years. They had one son, Anthony "Tony," and raised a grandson, Jay for 12 years.
Frank enjoyed golfing, which he took up after retiring and was proud that he made two holes in one. Frank was a hard worker and will be remembered as someone who was always willing to help a friend, neighbor or family any way that he could.
Frank is survived by his wife of more than 53 years, Edelene Rucinsky of Havre; his sons, Tony (Ruth) of Great Falls, David (Beth) of Havre, Dennis (Marylin) of Osh Kosh, Wis., Thomas (Catherine) of St. Louis, Mo.; stepsons, Rick (Kay) Ceynar, Greg (Wilma) all of Gold Canyon, Ariz.; daughters, Margaret (Bob) Horn of Havre, Dee Dee (Mike) Jennings of Havre, Dona Keeler of Great Falls; his stepdaughter, Doreen (Ervin) Shelstad of Havre; along with numerous nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sister, Agnes Kopco; and brother, Adam Rucinsky, both of Johnstown, Pa.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Joseph, Jay and Ted; his sisters, Kitty and Helen all of Johnstown, Pa.; and his step-son, Terry Ceynar.
Memorial donation may be made in Frank's name to Shodair Children Hospital, 2755 Colonial Drive, Helena, MT 59604.
