David D. Hofer, 50, of Turner passed away peacefully at Billings Clinic, Aug. 18, 2011, due to an aneurism.
David was surrounded by his loving family at the time of his passing, going into the arms of Jesus, where he was greeted by loved ones who passed before him.
David was born on Feb. 5, 1961, at Lewistown, Mont., to Paul and Anna Hofer.
As a young child, he moved with his family to Turner, where he resided until his passing.
David married his loving wife Theresa in 1994, starting a family of four beautiful children, one of whom was a special child who passed away a few days after the birth.
He was, at the time
of his passing, the Turner Colony's German teacher and gardener and was in charge of the colony's Black Angus herd, a job he truly enjoyed.
David's other hobbies were hunting, fishing and spinning tall tales, and he always had time to visit with friends and family.
Leaving to mourn and miss him are his loving wife, Theresa; children, Janel, Calvin and Victoria; his mother, Anna of Turner; sisters, Anne of Turner and Dora (Bill) Wirtzberger of Havre; brothers, Gary (Esther) and Walter (Barbara) all of Turner; sister in-law, Marie (Paul) of Turner; mother- and father-in-law, Barbara and Mike Hofer of Loring, Mont. ; brothers-in-law, Mike (Debra) and John (Anita) of Loring, Mont. ; Uncle George (Rachel) Hofer of Lewistown, Mont. ; aunts, Dora (Mike) Gross of Pincher Creek, Alberta, Becky (Darius) Walter of Lamona, Wash., and Matilda (Johnny) Hofer of Malta.
David is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends.
David was preceded in death by his father, Paul; son, Cory; baby brother, Ben, a few months ago by his brother, Paul; and numerous uncles and aunts. David spent the last two months of his life in Billings Clinic due to heart problems. A million thanks to the very great staff there and for the many phone calls, flowers, cards and food.
Memorial donations may be made to Theresa and family to go toward the newly established Turner Colony School or to a charity of one's choice.
Funeral Services were Sunday, Aug. 21, 2011, at 10 a. m. at Turner Colony Church. Burial was at Turner Colony Cemetery.
