It's already been a very busy and competitive week for the Havre High golf teams.
But the Blue Ponies aren't slowing down as they head to the Browning Varsity/JV Tournament Friday morning. The 18-hole tournament will be played at the East Glacier Lodge Golf Course, and not only will it be one of the most scenic venues the Ponies play all year, but Friday's meet will be the first of three trips to the course.
Havre will also play in Browning at the Browning Invitational on Sept. 3, and the Central A Divisional will be held there late in September.
The Ponies are coming off trips to Great Falls and Lewistown this week, and with plenty of rounds now in the books, HHS golfers should start to hit their stride.
The Havre boys competed in the prestigious Great Falls Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, and while they finished last as a team, they played with the best golfers in Montana, and that tournament should only serve to help them through the rest of the season. The HHS girls and a handful of JV players also competed at a tourney in Lewistown on Monday. The Lewistown meet was held at Pine Meadows and gave multiple HHS golfers their first tournament experience of the season.
Friday's tournament at East Glacier will start at 9:30 a.m. for both varsity and JV players.
