Rising gas prices not from Libyan unrest?

Rising gas prices not from Libyan unrest ?

Editor:

I have a question I hope someone can answer. First a little background. When Iraq invaded Kuwait, within 24 hours gas prices went up substantially. Then after 100 hours, oil companies told us there would be a six month lag before prices would go down because of the oil in the pipeline.

Then my question was why it only took 24 hours for the oil to get from Kuwait to the pumps and six months to get through the pipeline.

Now since the people of Libya are trying to oust a tyrannical dictator, gas prices are already going up.

How much oil do we get from Libya? Is it over 90 percent? If it is then maybe we should be having some price bump. If not, how much are we getting from Libya, and why has it taken less than 48 hours for the oil to get from there through the pipeline to the pump and how long will it take for the oil to filter through?

I have noticed a trend here of late that gas prices start going up in mid-spring and go back down about the first severe cold weather every year. Is this just a coincidence or is it planned by the oil companies? Personally, I think we are getting had once again and our elected officials do not have the fortitude to put a stop to it.
