Shane Michael Blevins
Shane Michael Blevins, 35, of Havre, passed away at home after a battle with melanoma, on Jan. 19, 2011.
Shane was born to Merritt and Suzanne (White) Blevins in Havre on May 17, 1975. The family moved to California in 1977. He attended schools in California and competed in Special Olympics. The family returned to Havre in 2001.
Shane was employed at the Havre Day Activity Center where he worked in the wood shop as a sander and the recycling center as a paper shredder. Throughout his illness he wanted to go to work, his last day of work being Jan 18.
Shane was a very special young man who throughout all his difficulties in life was a very happy, friendly person. He had a handshake and a smile for anyone he met and touched the lives of many. He had a love for muscle cars and called them his "fast cars. " His Walkman was always playing rock 'n' roll music, a love he acquired from his mom. He knew all his CDs by heart. He was a supporter of his Blue Ponies as well as his San Francisco 49ers. Shane was an avid swimmer, and he was happiest when boating, tubing, and/or camping. Shane was above all else, his sister Leanne's hero.
Shane is survived by his father, Merritt of Havre; his sister, Leanne of Bozeman; Merritt's fiancee' Cheryl Anderson; her sons, Kris and Cole; grandparents, Lee and Beth Blevins; and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Suzanne; grandparents, Robert and Amelia White and Eleanor Blevin; and his aunt, Diane Anastasio.
Memorial services for Shane will be Tuesday, Jan. 25, at 11 a. m., at St. Jude Thaddeus Church with Tim Maroney officiating. Donations may be made to the Havre Day Activity Center wood shop or to the charity of one's choice.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Holland & Bonine Funeral Home of Havre.
