Blue Ponies to race in Missoula

The Havre High boys and girls cross country teams are embarking on the toughes meet of the regular season. Saturday, the Blue Ponies will race at the Mountain West Invitational in Missoula.

The Mountain West meet is held at the University of Montana Golf Course and features over 50 teams which will make their way to Missoula this weekend, ranging from Montana, Idaho and Washington. And while the competition is almost endless, the Ponies will narrow their focus toward the Southwest A and Northwest A, especially Columbia Falls and Corvalis.

"It's a huge meet and a great experience for our kids getting to run against that many kids," Havre High head coach Kyle Fisher said. "It is just a higher level of competition, and it is good for our kids, and we are just looking to keep improving and looking forward to running, especially against those Class A teams from the west."

Saturday's meet in Missoula gets underway at 9:30 a.m.
