Ross Wade Tribby
Master Sgt. Ross Wade Tribby, 41, of Vaughn, a member of the Montana Air National Guard, died of injuries he sustained in a four-wheeler accident Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011, at the family farm near Vaughn.
Visitation is 10 a. m. to 7 p. m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011, at Hillcrest Lawn Chapel. His funeral is 1 p. m. Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011, in the Simms High School gymnasium. Burial with military honors will take place in Sun River Cemetery.
Ross was born Oct. 11, 1969, to Gladys Patricia "Pat" (Berg) and Morrell Lyle Tribby in Malta, Mont. He was raised and educated in Whitewater and later in Vaughn before graduating from Simms High School in 1988.
In 1992, Ross married Melinda "Lindie" Martin at the family farm in Vaughn, and together they had two children: a son Cole, and a daughter, Tawnie, whom they were raising on the family farm west of Vaughn.
He joined the Montana Air National Guard in September 1993 and served in Iraq, Puerto Rico, Panama and Korea. He later worked as a civil service technician at the MANG as a weapons loader and had obtained the rank of master sergeant.
Ross loved spending time with his family and especially enjoyed snowmobiling, riding four-wheelers, riding horses, skiing, camping and sharing life experiences with family and friends all around him.
Survivors include his wife, Melinda "Lindie" Tribby, a son, Cole Tribby, and a daughter, Tawnie Tribby, all of Vaughn; his mother, Pat Tribby of Anchorage, Alaska; his brothers, David Tribby of Anchorage, Doug Tribby of Vaughn and Ken Tribby of Great Falls; his mother- and father-in-law, Robin and Gary Martin of Great Falls; sisters-in-law, Jodie (Dawn) Martin of Boise, Idaho, and Brandi (Perry) Lunsford of Fort Worth, Texas; and brothers-in-law, Tad Martin of Sun Prairie and Brett March of Great Falls.
He was preceded in death by his father, Morrell Lyle Tribby, in 1994.
Memorials are suggested to the scholarship fund for his children, Cole and Tawnie, set up at Russell Country Credit Union.
