The Montana State University-Northern men's basketball team slipped out of the NAIA Top 25 this week, even though Northern earned a hard-fought road split this weekend in the Frontier Conference.
The Lights beat Rocky Mountain College on Thursday, but lost to Carroll College Saturday night in Helena. Apparaently, that was enough to send the Lights from No. 16 to out of this week's poll. Northern (8-4, 19-8) is still in a four-way tie for first in the Frontier heading into this weekend's regular season finale. The Lights are tied with Westminster, UM-Western and Carroll, all at 8-4, and Northern hosts Westminster on Friday night and LC State on Saturday.
While the Lights dropped roughly 13 spots this week, the Griffins moved up to No. 16 and the Bulldogs are No. 22.
