Local Bowling Report: USBC leagues will resume in January

Saturday night jackpot bowling will resume on Jan. 14 at 8 p.m. after a brief absence. Bowlers who wish to bowl in this popular event are asked to call to reserve his or her spot for the night.

There are still a few spots left for New Years Eve Jackpot also bowlers can call for their spot, but must come in and pay for it right away. $15 per person with a max of six per lane.

The USBC Jr. Leagues bowled for the last time this year as they are taking a break for the Holidays and Sunday, Dec. 18, and will resume on Jan. 8.

Bowlers wanting to practice during the holidays may bowl for free if they bring in 3 cans of food for the c linens of bowling. The food will be donated to the Food Bank.

TOURNEY TRAIL: P.B.A. World Series winner this week. Ryan Schafer 191 over Andres Gomez 177 will advance to Jan. 15th finals.

TIP OF THE WEEK: This will conclude this series of tips on the different grips. Stretched finger tip. It creates a lot of revolutions-a good grip for a flexible hand. Relaxed fingertip grip-Ezy grip on hand will get a lot of revs. The Sarge Easter grip-Tip of the middle finger to the first crease whle the ring finger inserts to the second crease. This grip will work to eliminate the big break.
