In what is one of the best rivalries in the Frontier Conference, the Montana State University-Northern men's basketball team stood tall against the No. 16 Carroll College Saints. Friday night at the MSU-Northern Fieldhouse, the Lights beat the Saints 73-54 in front of a raucos crowd.
MSU-N (3-1, 14-5) broke open a close game when LaVon Myers scored 13 unanswered point late in the first half. The Lights led 27-20 at the break and led by as many as 22 points in the second half. Myers finished with a game-high 25 points and four 3-pointers, while Shaun Tatarka added 14 and Devin Jackson chipped in with 12. MSU-N returns to the floor to face Rocky Mountain College at 8 p.m. on Saturday.
