Havre citizens should consider serving on council

Editor:

June 30 is the filing deadline for Havre City Council. Three seats — wards 1, 2 and 3 are being vacated, and Ward 4 does not have a firm candidate at the time of writing this letter. Half the City Council seats will be elected in November.

Have you considered serving your city as a council member? Please do.

Henrik Ibsen made a very good point when he said, "A community is like a ship. Everyone ought to be prepared to take the helm." You may think you are not interested in "politics," but city council is about governing the city.

Partisan politics do not play a role. Anybody who serves as a council member is interested in making Havre an even better place to live and work and play. You can have a real say in making Havre better as a council member.

Pick up the forms at the Hill County Courthouse Clerk and Recorder's Office and decide to make a difference in our community as a city council member.
