It's hard to believe, but another season of A-League baseball in Havre is now in the books.
On Saturday evening at Lions Park in Havre, the Havre Youth Baseball Association wrapped up it's A-League tournament with a wild championship game.
Subway bested Bing-N-Bob's in the championship game, 16-8. It was an exciting end to the season as Subway belted out 19 hits on its way to scoring 16 runs in the championship affair.
Not to be outdone, Bing-N-Bob's fought hard, not just in the championship game, but just to get to the final game. The team came back through the loser-out bracket and knocked off Lions in the consolation game on a game-winning hit in the final inning to advance to the championship outing.
Bing-N-Bob's lost a dramatic 15-14 game to Subway in the first round of the tournament before coming back to beat Fort Belknap, Central Machine and Lions on Saturday afternoon to have a shot at the A-League title. Meanwhile, Subway went undefeated in the tournament, beating Bing-N-Bob's in the first round, then Lions 13-6 to advance to the championship game. Lions won one game in the tournament, beating Central Machine 16-12, while Central Machine beat Fort Belknap 15-5 in the first game of the tournament.
The HYBA Babe Ruth tournament starts on Thursday night at Legion Field in Havre and runs through Sunday night. The Babe Ruth tourney features three teams from Havre, one from Chinook and one from Fort Belknap.
