Rebecca J. Waldner, 82 of East End Colony northeast of Havre, died at Northern Montana Hospital in Havre, Jan. 18, 2011. She was born April 17, 1928, at Rock Port Colony in Alberta, Canada, to Joseph J. and Rebecca A. (Wipf) Waldner.

She married lifelong sweetheart, Joseph J. Waldner Sr., in August 1954. Rebecca lived and worked on the East End Colony where she taught kindergarten for many years and worked with the colony's creamery.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Joseph Waldner, in 2009.

Rebecca is survived by her sons, Joe J. Waldner Jr., Elias Waldner and John Waldner, all of the East End Colony; her four daughters, Elizabeth Waldner of Pondera Colony near Dupuyer, Mont., Rebecca Wipf of Matinsdale Colony near Martinsdale, Mont., Sarah Waldner of East End Colony, and Lena Entz of Clover Leaf Colony in Alberta, Canada; five brothers; three sisters; and 18 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, noon at the East End Colony, with burial to immediately follow at the Colony Cemetery.

Holland & Bonine Funeral Home of Havre is in charge of arrangements.
