HMS football teams have success

The Havre Middle School Mustang's eighth-grade football team at the middle school finished up their season last Friday against Malta winning at Blue Pony Stadium 48-8. The Mustangs got to play their final games under the lights at Blue Pony Stadium and it was exciting for all the players.

Both the seventh and eighth grade teams finished their season undefeated, which was the goal before the game and to get everybody a lot of playing time. Mr. Nitz, the coach of the Mustangs said the toughest opponent for the team throughout the season had been Lewistown, and although Lewistown was their toughest opponent, the score said otherwise. The eighth graders had blown out Lewistown and dominated them every time.

Nitz was also asked what he was most proud about the team and said that they were probably the smartest team he had ever coached because this team bought into their system and learned the whole playbook in a short period of time, therefore the team was able to run the full playbook early on in the season. Coach Nitz finally said that this team really turned into a bunch of men on the field and that the character of the team is great and that he was proud to have been their coach.
