Chinook wins 9C boys crown

Make it a double for Chinook High at the District 9C tournament. On Saturday night, the Sugarbeeter boys followed the Chinook girls with a 9C championship of their own. Chinook demolished Big Sandy 63-35 in the boys championship game at the HHS gymnasium. It was the second straight year in which the Beeters and Pioneers played for the 9C title, with Big Sandy winning last season. Taylor Erskine scored a game-high 20 for the champion Beeters, who advanced the Northern C this week in Great Falls.

Big Sandy will now have to play Box Elder on Monday night for the second spot in the Northern C.
