Virginia Ann Trotchie, 81, a Great Falls resident of the Eagles Manor, died of natural causes early Friday morning, Oct. 14. At the family's request no services are planned. Instead her ashes will be scattered in the Bear's Paw Mountains along with her beloved late husband's, Jack J. Trotchie, who preceded her in death in 2005.
Virginia was also preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Bella (Nystrom) Christian; her sister, Maybelle Avila; her brothers; Caleb Christian and Richard Christian; and her dear friend and sister-in-law Lorraine (Trotchie) Mee.
She is survived by her son, David Wieweck of Alberton, Mont. ; daughters, Christine (Peter) Barker of Cairns, Queensland, Australia; and Paula Schafer of Great Falls, Mont. ; step daughters, Vicki (Fred) Jones of San Ramone, Calif., Linda (Patrick) O'Rourke of Bellvue, Wash., and Patricia (Michael) Ure of Lynden, Wash. ; stepsons, Jack M. Trotchie of Everett, Wash., Jim Trotchie of Fort Worth, Texas, and Jerry Trotchie of Kirkland, Wash. ; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Virginia was born March 26, 1930, in Havre, Mont. She married Dick Wieweck in 1949. She married Jack J. Trotchie on April 20, 1980. Virginia was a wonderful homemaker and an accomplished musician, playing piano, guitar and accordion. She spent many years inspiring other young musicians by giving music lessons in the Havre area. She also worked as a retail clerk in Havre. She moved to Great Falls in 2004.
