George 'Shane' Brodeur

George "Shane" Brodeur, 53, of Havre, died Oct. 16, 2011, at Northern Montana Care Center in Havre from complications due to liver failure.

Shane was born Nov. 19, 1957, in Havre, to George and Margie (Orr) Brodeur. He attended school in Havre, then began a lifetime of work in the construction industry as a heavy equipment operator in Montana and throughout the United States.

He met Kathleen Ceynar, and they later married at the chapel in the Bear Paws. To this union where born Nicole and Leslie. They later divorced. Shane will be remembered for his devotion to his daughters, his love of camping and his big chocolate Lab that would come from behind you in a dead run — affectionally called "Meat Head. "

He was a classic car lover, owning several classic vehicles over the years. He loved to hunt and fish, attend Grizzly football games and was an avid NASCAR fan — "Go #3! "

He was preceded in death by his father, George David Brodeur; and his his step-father, Victor Orr.

Shane is survived by his daughters, Nicole Brodeur of Arlee, Mont., and Leslie Brodeur of Great Falls, Mont. ; his siblings, Shelly Steichen of Portland, Ore., Sharon Tiller of Missoula, Kelly Brodeur of Great Falls, Jackie Heck of Wildomar, Calif., and Joel Brodeur of Havre; and by his guardian, Angel Mardi Haas of Havre.

Memorial services will be 2 p. m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011, at Holland & Bonine Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Cleve McSwain presiding. Cremation has taken place, and a private committal of ashes will take place at a later date.
