Deanna Lee Maney
Deanna Lee Maney, 71, of Kent, Wash., a Havre native, died of natural causes on Sunday, Aug. 7, at University of Washington Medical Center.
At her side were her loving daughter and son-in-law, Leanna and Scott Frazier.
She was born July 4, 1940, in Havre, Mont., to William and Mary Sission. She was raised in Havre along with three sisters, Clo, Shirley and Judy. She, along with her loving husband of 44 years, Richard Maney, raised three great children, Leanna and Randy McLeslie and Sharla Maney. During their 44 years together, they lived in many cities in Washington, Oregon and Montana, though they always felt Montana was their home.
Early in her career, she worked as a checker at different grocery stores until she went into the banking field. She started as a teller and advanced to vice president.
Both Dick and Deanna retired early and returned to their home state of Montana, where they lived in Arlee for 14 years. During their retirement years they enjoyed taking trips back east and down south in their RV along with other family members. After Dick passed away, she moved to Kent to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Leanna and Scott Frazier.
She enjoyed planting flowers in the garden and feeding the birds and squirrels in the back-yard. She loved spending time with her grandsons, going to plays, concerts and traveling.
Deanna is preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard Maney; her daughter, Sharla Giese; her son, Randy McLeslie; her father, William Sission; her mother, Mary Alvstad; her stepfather, John Alvstad; and her sister, Shirley Velk.
Her survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Leanna and Scott Frazier; three grandsons and two great-grandchildren; sisters, Clo Faechner and Judy Waldhausen; along with many other family members.
Her memorial services will be held at the Edwards Funeral Home in Chinook, Mont., on Friday, Aug. 19, 2011, followed by burial at Kuper Memorial Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the VFW Disabled Vets or to the charity of your own choosing.
