Anastasia Mae 'Anne' Bachini

Anne Bachini, 88, peacefully passed away from natural causes on Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, at Northern Montana Care Center. Anne was born the eighth child of Alfred and Agnes Rehbein in Enid, Mont., on May 10, 1922, and was raised on the family farm near Lambert, Mont.

She was the middle child of 15 children. She had seven brothers and seven sisters who all called her 'Sis.'

After graduating from high school, she moved to Havre to attend Northern Montana College where she met Vasco Bachini. They were married on July 15, 1941, and with this union, she became a mother to eight-year-old Bob Bachini. They welcomed another son, Dick, in September 1942, and daughter, Teri, in January 1945.

She was a devoted and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She worked at Sacred Heart Hospital in Havre, in medical records for a number of years before moving to Havre Clinic, where she was affectionately known as "Annie B," until her retirement.

After retiring, she had more time to enjoy her beautiful flower and vegetable gardens. Anne loved to fish, picnic and go for drives just to enjoy the scenery. All her life, she collected many mementos, newspaper clippings, photos, etc. and created wonderful scrapbooks that her family will cherish for years to come. Anne was a wonderful cook, but it was the smell of her fresh homemade bread that would draw the neighborhood kids for hot bread with butter and sugar.

Nonna, as she was called by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially enjoyed pulling them in wagons up hill. "faster Nonna, faster!" they'd yell. They all loved playing with her, too.

She reunites in heaven with her parents, Alfred and Agnus Rehbein; brothers, Henry "Hank," William "Bill" and Albert; and her sisters Mary Lawrence, Margaret "Maggie" Regan and Monica Tanglen. She also joins her brother- and sister-in-law Oscar and Elia Bachini; nephews, John and Frank; and nieces, Rosie DeHooge, Mary Guzaand and Irene Hanning.

She is survived by her loving husband, Vasco; sons, Bob (Shirley) Bachini and Dick Bachini; daughter, Teri (Sam Jr.) Bussey; grandchildren, Linda Crofts, Trina Stivers and Sam Bussey III; and nine great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her brothers, Jim, Bud, Fritz and Bob; her sisters, Emma Hanson, Gertie Hoffstot, Cathy Williams and Deanie Evensen; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A rosary will be held at Holland & Bonine Funeral Home at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011, with Father Dale Yurkovic presiding. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Anne's life will be announced and held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates donations be sent to a charity of one's choice.
