High-wind alert issues for area

The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning through midnight.

According to the weather service, strong southeast winds will continue over central and north-central Montana through the evening hours.

Sustained southwest winds of 30 to 45 mph with gusts to 65 mph are expected through the evening hours.

Strong winds will cause locally hazardous conditions for trailers and high profile vehicles. North to south oriented roads will be particularly hazardous.

Locations affected include: Havre, Big Sandy, Fort Benton, Chinook, Judith Gap, Lewistown and Chester.
