Phoenix Cole Windy Boy, 14, died Aug. 14, 2011, at his residence.
His cause of death is being investigated by the Chouteau County Coroner's Office.

Wake services began Sunday and will continue through Monday at the Christ Lutheran Church in Rocky Boy, with his funeral service 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Lutheran Church. His burial will be at the Windy Boy Family Cemetery in Haystack. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
Phoenix was born March 25, 1997, in Havre, Mont., to Arthur and Delphine (Longneck) Windy Boy. He grew up being traditional and cultural. He followed the Native American Church. He knew all of the Native American songs. He enjoyed sports, and one of his main goals and wishes was to play professional basketball for the NBA. He loved spending time with his family and friends, listening to music, lifting weights, boxing and playing X-Box. Phoenix also loved to hang out with his big brothers who he looked up to very much. He was a big Momma's boy.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Lucille and Sam Windy Boy; maternal grandmother, Emma Goher; maternal great-grandmother, Babe Gopher; and one nephew, Joseph Cole Eagleman.
Phoenix is survived by his parents, Delphine and Arthur "Ozzie" Windy Boy; brothers, Ryan (Jennifer) Jordan (Stephanie), Michael, Aaron (Michelle), Ozzie, Justin, Kelly, Emmett (Ahliyah) and Shaindiin Windy Boy, all of Rocky Boy; sisters, Bonnie (Keenan) Windy Boy, Robin (Austin) Whitford, Kimberly (James) Eagleman, Emma (Brian) Rosette, Veronica, Lauren, Teri and Stephainie Windy Boy, all of Rocky Boy; and 30 nieces and nephews.
