John Jay O'Leary
John Jay O'Leary, 52, died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011, at Northern Montana Care Center of natural causes. His funeral service will be Monday, Oct. 17, 2011, at 11 a. m., at Holland & Bonine Funeral Chapel with Tim Maroney officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery.
Memorials in John Jay's honor may be made to the Boys & Girls Club of the Hi-Line or to Northern Montana Care Center Chapel Fund.
Holland and Bonine Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Jay was born Feb.
26, 1959, in Havre, the son of John and Elinora Cox O'Leary. He graduated from Havre High School in 1977. Jay worked at Buttrey's and Albertsons from 1977 until 1987, when he became a paranoid schizophrenic.
From 1987 until his death, Jay lived in a couple of group homes and eventually Northern Montana Care Center.
Jay's greatest enjoyment in life was hunting and fishing with his dad, brothers and his cousin, Butch Wagner. Jay loved life and especially his family.
Jay was preceded in death by his father, John in 2002; great-nephew; Kellen Lund O'Leary; grandparents, Nellie O'Leary of Harlem, and Milton and Ann Cox of Chinook; and many aunts and uncles.
Jay is survived by his mother, Elinora; brothers, Richard (Vickie) O'Leary and Robert (Sandy) O'Leary, all of Havre; nephews and nieces, Terry O'Leary, Tim (Halley) O'Leary, Tiffany O'Leary and Todd (Lisa) O'Leary, all of Havre, and Trudy (Doug) Jones of Fairfield, Mont. ; great-nephews and niece, Bobby, Tamera and Ryker O'Leary of Havre and Ridger Jones of Fairfield, Mont.
