Margaret (Peggy) L. Angstman died at the Harbor Glen Memory Care Center in Spokane, Wash., on Sept. 6, 2011.
She was born on April 7, 1922, in Alexander, N.D. She was the youngest of seven children born to Oscar and Alfhild Winden. The Windens moved from Alexander to Glendive, Mont., where Peggy graduated from Dawson County High School.
In 1940 after graduating from high achool as a National Honor Society member, she moved with her family to Havre, Mont. She attended Northern Montana College and took a one-year general studies course that prepared her for her work as a secretary. While a student, she met Paul W. Angstman, and they were married in 1943.
Peggy and Paul leave behind four children, Tom (Jan) Angstman Spokane, Wash., Greg (Mary) Angstman of Pennsauken, N.J., Lesly Miller of Spokane, Wash., and Jeannie (Brian) Farmer of Lakewood, Ohio. Also surviving Peggy are seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Her extended family includes three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Her parents, her siblings and her husband, Paul, preceded her in death.
Peggy was a consummate homemaker, a gracious and thoughtful hostess and a passionate mother. She loved her family, and no one could have a better friend.
After nearly 60 years in Havre, illness forced Peggy and Paul to leave their family home and their many friends to be near her son Tom and daughter Lesly. She lived in Spokane for six years. In her last years, Peggy often mentioned that she would "be back to Havre soon. "
Cremation has taken place. A family memorial service will be held in Spokane. Burial will be at the cemetery in Havre, where a graveside service is planned. Dates and times are pending.
