Ethel Kalanick, 93, a longtime farm-and-ranch wife, fromerly of Big Sandy, Mont., died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011, at her home at Cambridge Court in Great Falls, Mont. Cremation has taken place, and at this time there are not any services planned.
Ethel was born Jan. 15, 1919, in Havre, Mont., to Luther and Ethel (Smith) Pewitt. She was raised and educated in Havre. She married Steve Kalanick in 1938, and the couple made their home in Big Sandy on the farm and raised their five children.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Steve Kalanick in 1968; her daughter, Judy (Kalanick) Wiley; two brothers; and one sister.
Ethel is survived by her husband of 73 years, Steve Kalanick of Great Falls, Mont. ; daughter, Ethel Atkinson of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; two sons, Ron (Kandra) Kalanick of Union City, Calif., and Dick Kalanick of Big Sandy, Mont. ; and one sister, Louise Flynn of Mesa, Ariz.
