Pat Holman
CHINOOK — Pat Holman, 91, passed away peacefully Aug. 3, 2011, at the Billings Clinic Hospital of natural causes.
Pat was born to Isabella and Finlay MacArthur on June 23, 1920. She attended school in Chinook, graduating in 1938. Pat's father passed away when she was 10 years old. She assisted her mom in household chores and with the raising of her sisters and brother.
Pat worked at the Chinook Bakery after graduation. She then went to work for Buttrey Foods, where she met Gerald Holman, her husband of 50 years. They made their home north of Chinook where Pat worked with her husband on the family farm along with raising six children.
Pat was a fantastic baker and was widely known for her homemade pastries, especially her cinnamon and dinner rolls. She donated many of these to the school, church and charity functions. She volunteered her services to numerous events and charities, including the Senior Citizen Center, the Presbyterian Church, and the 4-H Chuckwagon, which she ran for several years.
She was preceded
in death by her parents; her husband; her sisters, Anne, Madeline, Katherine, and Mocky; her brother, Jim; and her son, Danny.
She is survived by her sister, Jeanie Erickson of Chinook; her daughters, Marian (Steve) Medina of SanTan Valley, Ariz., Pedie (Dale) Vinson of Palm Desert, Calif., Susie (Bob) Young of Shepherd, Anita Sather of Fairfield, Calif., and Donna Cross of Olathe, Kan. ; her son, Chuck Holman of Portage, Mich. ; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pat enjoyed all her extended family and friends. We are all going to miss her smile and generosity.
Memorials are suggested for the Presbyterian Church in Chinook or the Butterfly Homes in Billings or personal choice.
