It's not a conference game, but the Havre High girls basketball team is preparing for a very tough opponent.
Tonight the Central A Blue Ponies will host the District 2B Malta M-Ettes at 6 p.m. at the Havre High gymnasium in a game that was postponed last Tuesday due to weather. And after a very tough conference weekend, the Ponies are really looking for a much needed win.
"This is going to be our toughest home game of the season because of where it's placed," Havre High head coach Dustin Kraske said. "Malta is a good team and we are coming off of a brutal trip. The thing we are looking for is that we have to mentally handle it. Physically we are going to be tired and that's life, but if we can play together and play hard we will be satisfied."
The first time around the M-Ettes defeated the Ponies 62-48. And if Havre wants to turn things around this time, they are going to have to handle the Malta Pressure. Malta likes to get out and press team in the hopes of easy transition buckets.
"They play sound defense and play well together," Kraske said. "We have to be at our best to beat them."
