Margaret 'Agnes' Burke Bullock

Margaret "Agnes" Burke Bullock, 90, died Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011, at a Havre care facility in Havre, Mont., of natural causes. Cremation has taken place. Her memorial Mass and burial will be 1 p. m., Friday, Oct. 7, 2011, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Livingston, Mont., with Father Wayne Pittard officiating. Burial will follow at the Mountain View Cemetery in Livingston. A celebration of her life will be held at the Elks Club immediately after the graveside service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Agnes's honor may be made to the Care and Comfort Home, 1204 Cleveland Ave., Havre, MT 59501. Local arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.

Agnes was born March 10, 1921, on the ranch near Harlowton, Mont., to John F. and Margaret (Ross) Burke. Agnes was the second oldest of five children. She had four brothers, Jack, Jim, Bob and Howard. She was raised and educated in Harlowton, where she graduated from high school in 1938. She married Howard Bullock in 1947, and the couple made their home in Livingston where they raised their children. She worked for the Northern Pacific and Burlington Northern Railroads as a clerk for 40 years. Agnes loved to be around people. Agnes worked at various places in the Livingston area and was known by many people.

Agnes enjoyed traveling with Howard. Together they would travel all over the country. Her favorite stories and memories centered on their travels with their life-long Park County Tavern Association friends.

Agnes was a very kind and compassionate person. She enjoyed sewing and playing cards. Agnes was a member of the Catholic Daughters in Livingston. She always gave to others and would help out anyone she could, often sacrificing her own needs.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her older brother, Jack Burke; and her husband, Howard Bullock in 2009.

Agnes is survived by her children: daughters, Carol Stenberg of Livingston, Mont., Nancy (Perry) Ahern of Havre, Mont., Joan Bullock of Missoula, Mont., and honorary children, Lynda and Dan Gravage of Livingston, Mont. ; three brothers, Bob Burke, and Jim (Bev) Burke all of Livingston, Mont., and Howard Burke of Pittsburgh, Pa. ; her grandchildren, Otto and Margaret, Melissa (Clinton), Carly, Patrick, Ben (Ilah) and Jenny; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
