Cora Louise Divish, 88, passed away Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011, at Northern Montana Hospital of natural causes.
Cremation has taken place, and a graveside service will be held in the spring. Memorials in Cora's honor may be made to the Care and Comfort Home, 1204 Cleveland Ave., Havre, MT 59501. Arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
Cora was born Jan. 25, 1922, in Havre, Mont., to Roy and Ora (Haymaker) Smithson. She was raised in Hogeland, attended schools and graduated from high school there. She attended Sacred Heart Nursing Program and obtained her registered nurse's training. She worked for Sacred Heart Hospital as a nurse and a supervisor of nursing. She married Ed Divish Jan. 29, 1945, in Havre. The couple made their home in Havre and raised three children, Marcia, Ed and Robert. Cora was a wonderful nurse and mother. She enjoyed dancing and reading. She and Ed retired and moved west to Lakeside, Mont. They enjoyed being over West near Flathead Lake. Cora moved back to Havre in 1998 and lived at the Eagles Manor until 2008 when she went into the Care and Comfort Home.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother; a son-in-law; and one grandson.
Cora is survived by her children: daughter, Marcia Constable of Havre, Mont., and sons, Ed (Patsy) Divish of Havre, Mont., and Robert (Margaret) Divish of Minneapolis, Minn. ; two brothers: George Smithson of Washington and Bill Smithson of Idaho; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three great- great-grandchildren.
