Goldie May Hauskins, 94, died Dec. 18, 2010, of natural causes at her home in Havre, Mont.
Funeral services will be held at O'Connor Memorial Chapel in Great Falls on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010, at 2 p.m., with burial to follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. O'Connor Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Goldie was born June 10, 1916, in Caiu's Store, Ky., the fourth of seven children, to Ada (Eads) Pitman and Henry Pitman.
She married Charles Willard Kissee in 1936. Later they divorced. She married Robert W. Hauskins in 1953, in Hoopston, Ill. Goldie and Robert moved to Washington state in 1954, where she worked as a waitress in the fruit orchards and canneries. She then worked with the mentally handicapped at Rainier State School in Buckley, Wash. A work-related injury forced her to an early retirement.
In 1973, they moved to Great Falls, Mont. She enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. She also enjoyed gardening, crocheting and being with her family.
Goldie and Robert spent their winters in Georgia and Florida. Her husband Robert died in 1989. In 1992 Goldie moved to Havre.
Goldie is survived by one daughter, Chestina "Tina" Webb and one son, Loyall (Barbara) Kissee, both of Havre, Mont .; one sister, Lola Klappsa of Enumclaw, Wash .; seven grandchildren, Debbie (Parke) Smith of Colorado, Dennis Noya of Great Falls, Janice (Mark) Ackland of Yakima, Wash., Kevin (Kaleana) Emhoff of Great Falls, Michel (Todd) Murphy of Belt, Angela (Jody) Bastas of Great Falls and Chad (Toni) Kissee of Portland, Ore .; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; four brothers, Robert, Herbert, Vertrise and Avery Pitman; one sister, Rose Dick; and one grandson, Jeffrey Noya.
