After a challenging weekend at the CMR Holiday Classic, the Havre High wrestling team has one more task ahead of the Christmas Break.
Tonight, the top-ranked Class A Blue Ponies are in Lewistown for a Central A Conference dual with the powerful Lewistown Eagles.
Lewistown has been in a rebuilding mode the last three years, but the Eagles have a veteran team with several quality wrestlers, and while they don't quite have the depth HHS has, they will certainly be good enough to push the Ponies tonight.
The Eagles are especially tough in the middle of their lineup. At 152 pounds, Rex Martin will go head-to-head with HHS star Eli Hinebauch, while the Eagles also have state title contenders in Dexter Trask at 140 pounds and Connor Malone at 160 pounds.
Meanwhile, the Ponies enter the dual coming off a fourth-place finish at the CMR Holiday Classic. Saturday was the first time in four years the Ponies didn't claim the CMR championship.
Tonight's dual starts at 6 p.m. in Lewistown. The Ponies are off after tonight until Jan.3.
