HHS swimmers head to Great Falls

The Havre High swim teams have already seen what Great Falls High and CMR look like. Now the Blue Ponies will get to see the two teams and the rest of Class AA in the Great Falls' Pol.

The Pony boys and girls swim teams are in Great Falls for two days of competition, starting today with the annual Great Falls Meet at 4:30 p.m. at the Bison Fieldhouse Pool.

The Ponies will compete today against GFH and CMR as well as Class A rival Hardin. The on Saturday, the Bison and Rustlers, as well as HHS and Hardin will join Class AA schools — Billings West, Billings Senior, Billings Skyview, Bozeman, Butte High, Kalispell Flathead and Kalispell Glacier as well as Billings Central for the annual Great Falls relay meet on Saturday. The meet will feature only relay races on the boys and girls side, and is always one of the most fun meets for high school swimmers each year.

The Ponies opened their season last weekend with the Havre Invitational at the Havre Community Pool. Only GFH and CMR made the trip to Havre, so the meet was scored as a double-dual.

But while Havre did well against the Class AA schools, the Ponies will certainly see even more competition this weekend, and are especially looking forward to competing against Hardin and Billings Central, the only other two swimming programs in Class A.

The two meets Havre swims in Great Falls this weekend will also be the only meets HHS has before the holiday break. The Ponies will then resume their schedule on Jan. 7 in Hardin.
