Gayle "Jethro" Gendrow

Gayle "Jethro" Gendrow, 65, of Havre, passed away Nov. 29, 2010, at Northern Montana Care Center in Havre.

Gayle's memorial service will be held 11 a. m. Friday, Dec. 3, 2010, at Holland & Bonine Funeral Home with Sister Margaret Mary O'Doherty officiating. A private burial will take place at a later date.

Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.

Gayle was born March 6, 1945, in Missoula, Mont., to Walter and Barbara (Manley) Gendrow. Gayle was the third of four children. He was raised and attended schools in Missoula. He was hired in 1965 by the Northern Pacific Railroad in Missoula, the same year he was drafted by the U. S Army. Gayle was honorably discharged in August of 1967. In 1972 his daughter LaRae was born. Gayle continued to work for the railroad in Missoula and was transferred to Havre in 1989. He retired in 2005 after 40 years of service. Gayle was a member of the Elks Club and enjoyed spending time fly fishing at his property at Rock Creek.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Barbara Gendrow, stepmother, Jeannie Gendrow and sister Penny Wood.

Gayle is survived by his daughter, LaRae (Mike) Hanks of Wolf Point, Mont. ; sister, Kay Sickich Durango, Colo. ; brother, John (Billie) Gendrow of Lincoln, Mont. ; and grandchildren Taylor, Sierra and Shelby Hanks all of Wolf Point, Mont.

Memorial contributions in Gayle's honor may be made to Montana Chapter of American Cancer Society, 1903 Central Ave., Billings, MT 59102.
