Carroll's Wagner named Frontier's offensive MVP

Six years at Carroll College and his brilliant career isn't over yet. But former Havre Blue Pony Gary Wagner is finally reaping some of the benefits of his hard work and dedication to the Saints.

On Wednesday night, Wagner was announced as the Co-Offensive MVP of the Frontier Conference, sharing the honor with Rocky Mountain QB Kasey Peters. Wagner and Peters also shared First-Team All-Conference honors at quarterback.

Wagner has battled injury throughout his career at Carroll but has put back-to-back great seasons together, and this year, he was finally honored for his efforts.

Wagner was second in the NAIA a year ago in passing efficiency but he leads the nation in that category this year. He finished the regular season completing 72 percent of his passes, tops in the NAIA. For the year, he's completed an astonishing 116 of 160 pass attempts with 18 touchdowns against just six INT's. His passer rating is also tops in the NAIA. During the regular season, Wagner threw for 1,503 yards and totaled 1,850 yards of offense, as he showcased his running ability as well.

The former HHS three-sport standout will try and finish his career by leading the Saints to the national title.
