Ellen McMahan

Ellen (Anderson) McMahan, 55, passed away at home from kidney failure on Nov. 11, 2010. A memorial celebration for family and friends will be Sunday, Nov. 28, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Eagles Club in Havre.

Ellen was born March 5, 1955, to Ralph W. and Wilma (Roper) Anderson. She was raised on a dairy farm east of Havre and enjoyed the horses and all the little animals, until they got big. She also enjoyed reading, cross-stitching, sewing and spending time with her family.

She went through the Havre school system, graduating from Havre High School in 1973. She met her husband, Steve, in Havre, and they married May 5, 1973. They lived in Germany for three years before moving to Texas for three years, then back to Havre in 1979.

Ellen is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Steve; wonderful daughter and son-in-law Christy and Charles Kolczak and precious granddaughter, Sonya, all of Havre; dad, Ralph of Havre; brother Bob (Kathy) Anderson of Billings; sister, Sharon (Wayne) Nold of Havre; brother, John (Pam Burke) Anderson of Havre; stepmother-in-law, Carlie (Arne Grisham) McMahan of Alaska; and good friends, Greg and Nyla Russell of Havre.
