Bull Dazzle a big hit once again

Bull riders came to Havre in search of prize money and the perfect ride, as well as to help raise money for the Montana State University-Northern Rodeo Team. And this year's Bull Dazzle didn't disappoint. On Friday and Saturday at the Great Northern Fairground's Bigger Better Barn, 60 riders competed in two night's of bull riding, with nearly $4,000 on the line, and there was plenty of excitement for bull riding fans in the area. Dustin Jenkins captured the average with a total score of 173.50, just edging out Steven Turner, who finished with a 172.50. Ross Lewis was third overall with a 169, followed by Cody Four Colors, Andy Sivertsen and Brett Crump. Jenkins captured the short go with a ride of 88 points and also scored an 85 in the long go, good for fourth place. The two rides led him to the average title for the weekend. Sivertsen won the long go with am 86.5. Turner finished second in the long go with an 86, Crump was third with an 85.5 and Levin Hendrickson and Parker Breding tied for fifth with an 84.5. The short go saw Four Colors take second with an 88. Turner was third with an 86.5 and Ross Lewis scored an 85, good for fourth in the short go. The team steer riding competition on Saturday night was won by the Shanty Bar. Competing for the Shanty was Cortlan Bickford, Philip Sutherland and Austin Ouelette. All of the proceeds from the event goes to help fund the Northern men's and women's rodeo teams. The Bull Dazzle was sanctioned by Elite Professional Bull Riders Association.
